But, not all was not lost. It was very relaxing to just sit quietly reading a book and listening to the gentle rain dropping down on the ground from the foliage of the palmetto trees outside. Then there was plenty of time to watch a DVD checked out of the local library - an Irish film set in 1937 called, Falling for a Dancer. We had time (after all, we are retired) to watch three of the four episodes. The DVD jacket says, in part, "... a poignant story of love lost and found, of hatred and reconciliation, tears and laughter, truth and understanding in the end , blah-blah blah." Yeah, I know some of you will intuit that this is a classic 'Chick flick,' but truth be told, I enjoyed the story and can't wait to watch the fourth installment for the "truth and understanding in the end" part.
And now, some poetry engendered by the quality time available for such activity.
Not all time on the Island is spent outside in the sun,
As time well spent indoors can also be fun.
Time to read, relax and enjoy while indoors,
Doing what we want - hey, ignore the chores!
Staying put in casual clothes with liquid refreshments,
Quiet time to read, watch and relax - grand complements.
'Snowbird' no longer seems a sweet nothings complement,
Living comfortably in the moment is heaven sent.
The rain has passed and the the day is sunny,
We'll go do something local and spend some money,
Maybe serious, educational, or kinda funny,
Life is good and sweeter than Georgia honey.
Peace and joy from Ron & Nancy
